I Have A New Blog!

I know, I know... it's been a while, but I am officially back to blogging and wanted to keep you updated on where you can find me. I will be returning to YouTube, soon, but I am currently blogging at inHer GLAM, which is my recently launched fashion and lifestyle blog. I have so many exciting directions that I want to go in terms of this site and want you all to be a part of it. The blog is still technically "under construction" but I am posting almost daily and you can access the site to read posts, share and comment. I also have an official Facebook page; when you visit the site just click the Facebook icon in the box (follow us) on the side of the screen and it'll take you directly to the page. Please comment on both the page and website and share with your friends. Style on a Budget!

So I have been doing a lot of bargain shopping...my thing is if I find it on clearance and I like AND I have the money for it, then get it! I'm not going to post everything I got, but something I will talk about is the great deal I got on some style books. The Waldenbooks near me, I believe, is closing in less than ten days. I didn't know about it until I went in today and the store was just about empty. Everything was AT LEAST 60% off.

I was really looking for fiction books, but I happened to go near the self help books and found these style books...I couldn't pass it by, so I go the five pictured for $40! I saved about $70...Style books can give you a lot of good information, especially if it's something you want to get into professionally or as a hobby for yourself personally. I may do some reviews as I read through them, I don't know yet...but just wanted to let you all know about the deal I got.

New Year, New Blog!

So I know I've been away for a while now, but I'm back! Last semester I literally had no time for anything other than school and work. I'll be starting my last semester of undergrad in two weeks and I'm excited to get done and move on with my life. I have a lot to look forward to for this year and I can't wait for all that's in store!

My blog will be a little different. I'm not going to promise a post everyday, because I don't won't to give false promises...but I can promise that the posts will be exciting and incorporate things that I love. I am starting up my own freelance makeup and styling company... So stuff dealing with that will be included in my blog. The blog will focus mainly on makeup and fashion...occasionally I might throw some posts in about my personal life.

The other topic I will post a lot on will be my hair! I'm currently in month nine of my transition to natural! I know, I know this is my second attempt, but I'm 5 months past the first try and I'm loving every minute of it! I wear a lot of beanies and berets, but I've found protective styles that work for me too. So look for posts and reviews on my natural journey and hair care.

Mississippi Trip July 23-27

so this is a couple of weeks late (computer problems again) but these are FOTDs and outfits from my trip to Laurel/Pachuta, MS for my granny's church reunion/small family reunion...we left thursday night and got there friday morning and returned home monday evening...

i'm just going to list the pictures below in order of days...the first set starts on friday and ends on sunday

Sunday's Outfit

Outfit and such...

so i have another outfit of the day...today i went to church and i wore a black tunic top, black skinny jeans and black wedged shoes with a bow on them plus my tear drop earring i got from forever21. i didn't wear any makeup just wore vs sweet nothing lipstick and vs wet lipgloss on the lips...

i did shop this weekend but i don't know if i'm going to post it. i just got a couple of basic tees from vs and a dress to wear to church when i go to mississippi this weekend so you'll see that dress when i post some time next week. i also impulsively bought a purse online at vs. it's a jessica simpson bag and it's gorgeous and was in the clearance section plus i got an extra 25% off so i couldn't pass it up because i was looking for a new purse anyway.

(the purse i ordered but i got it in black and idk about the long handle but it comes off)

but i hope you all had a wonderful weekend and hope the week to come is wonderful too!

Thursday's Outfit

i had to work yesterday and meant to put this up when i got off but i forgot so here's the outfit...

black stirrup jeans with a white pocket v-neck tee and pink flower earrings(we can't wear dangling earrings because a participant might snatch them off) and i wore black flats (not pictured) since we can't wear flip flops either

i didn't do any makeup just wore cherish and chai on the lips

Home Sweet Haul

Hauls & Home
so i finally have a haul...yipee! but i went back home over the weekend because i had it off and you add a wider range of stores and pay day and you get a haul of sorts. i ended up shopping friday and saturday because i found this absolutely gorgeous jumpsuit at macy's during their one day sale. it's not so cute on the hanger but is definitely cute on. i went back to the mall to get a skinny belt to go with it, but we know how hard it is to go to the mall and only get one thing so here's what i got below.

friday's trip:

i took my younger brother and cousin with me this day. i was NOT inspired when i went shopping and macy's was the last store i went to because i wanted to stop by mac, but this caught my eye i tried it on and fell in love!

here it is on with some yellow peep toe sandaled heels

i got lippies from mac- cherish lipstick and chai lipglass

got this from wetseal, i wanted pink but of course they only had blue left...

no trip home is complete without stopping by borders since there isn't one where i am only barnes and noble (which i don't particularly care for) i picked up 2 books from brenda jackson (one of my fave authors) so look out for book reviews soon!

saturday's trip:

i went shopping with my sister this day and she always stops by pacsun. i had been there the day before but didn't pay attention to the signs that read take an ADDITIONAL %50 off so i only got two tops because almost ALL of the smalls were gone...

i had originally went to forever 21 the day before looking for a specific floral skirt and was told they were out of it so i went back this day for accessories specifically a belt for my jumpsuit. why did i find the skirt when i went this day and they only had one in a small which fit but stopped right below the tush so i would've needed a medium...

you guys know i'm loving anything floral so i got this ring and the fushia earrings. the dangly ones were so cute to me and i might pair them with the jumpsuit...

these belts were only $2.50! i got them in sm/md and they only had 1 left in each size in the black so i got the last small one...i plan to pair the grey one with the jumpsuit.

i also have an outfit of the day and FOTD from saturday. i went to my little cousin's birthday party, she turned 2 and it was so beautiful out and the perfect day for outdoor activities so i didn't want to smoke out my makeup but didn't want to do the bronzey look either so i did a pinky purplish look.

with a pinky lipstick to the mall (vs sweet nothing)

with a nude @ the party (mac fresh brew & chai)

vs pink dress and brown buckle sandals with a small wedge

i also paired it with the flower ring and flower earrings (pic from the party)

that's about all i had an okay time at home but it's always nice to be able to go back to your own place. hope your week's been good and i['m trying to update more but ii haven't had much motivation. i'm open for any suggestions!

i have looked up and down and finally found and i adore them! i love betsey johnson because her style is so unique and different and that totally fits me.

so it's getting hot and hopefully it's sunny where you are and days where the sun is shining and the weather is right are times when i like to get away to somebody's beach...

what's the number 1 must have for a day frolicking in the sun...a swimsuit! this post is all about the right suit for the right shape.

QUICK TIPS

-if you're bustier you can never go wrong with a halter style top
-bandeau tops ARE NOT for every shape, they tend to suit a smaller chest or someone with a boyish figure
-tankinis are great for those who want to hide or take the focus off of their middle section
-patterned suits are cute, but if you're heavier at the bottom the pattern will only draw attention to that area. a solid bottom will take the focus off of that area and the same goes for taking the attention off of a busty top area
-DON'T FORGET THE ONE PIECES! there are so many one pieces available in a variety of styles that the basic one piece that was originally thought to be for those afraid of a two piece can now be embraced by everyone

i hope these tips help you ladies out as you swim suit shop and take advantage of some great deals going on right now...

Camera-Less...for now

so the bf is in chicago and he took the wrong battery charger...he's been gone for a minute but he's supposed to be coming back this weekend so i can finally take some pictures!

i have a vicky's haul, one online that i'm waiting for in the mail and the other that i went in store and brought. i got some of the 75% off makeup. i was actually pretty late, but i still go some good stuff they were only out of 2 things that i really wanted...the light purple shadow and this coral-like lipgloss, but oh wells i might see if it's still available back in the chi.

but, until the next post that's all for now, hope the week is going good...oh yea, i finish my intersession course on friday so i'll officially be done with school until august, yay!

this season the maxi dress is all the rage...you can be casually chic or or dress it up for a night out on the town. either way this fabulously long dress will flatter any shape and size...

TIPS:

-watch the cut of the bust...triangular cuts can tend to be a problem for bustier girls
-short girls TRY IT ON! because the dress is long it can tend to drag the floor on shorter girls so make sure to try it on and if you absolutely have to have it HEM IT UP!
-don't over accessorize...a bold print dress can go without and a solid print dress can use a necklace, maybe a bolder shoe

New (kind of) Beginnings...rather Seasons...

i know, i know...recessions, bailouts, the dow, business...just everything is like up and down nowadays. and where have i been...? around.

so, you know how i said i got a second job, well it was working mornings at mcdonald's...i know, i'm a vegetarian, but i thought it would be something different for me to do...nope! after about 4, 5 weeks i'm telling them this is my last week.

don't even get me started on people's attitudes, customers and employees...if you work at a fast food restaurant more power to you, but it's just not my atmosphere and i don't want to end up in the news for doing something i would regret doing... but good news is that the job i've been trying to get all school year finally hired me. it's closer to my school and the pay is better than both sears and mcdonald's...which reminds me that i have to give sears my two week notice soon...

but i'll still be working with people, just in an entirely different environment.

other than that i've just been going to class and performing with my dance group...we had our show march 27 in celebration of women's month...i did every ones makeup, just eyes, once again and i'll include that below at the end. the look was more subtle with the colors based around fire...

other news to report...i'll be in summer school once again, well not technically, because this summer i'll be taking a class during the summer intersession which is only like 4 weeks so it's not as bad as being stuck in class all summer. it just means after the semester's over i get like a 2 week break then i'm back in the classroom...

exciting news, at least to me, is that i get my new puppy next week so i'm super excited...i'm still not using my own computer which is part of the reason why i haven't been posting, but bills have been kicking my a** and hopefully after next week i'll get a break and be able to get what i need for my computer so i can get back on it because i miss it...

oh and before i go...youtube update...i'll be doing makeup tutorials once again, most likely towards the very end of the semester, but i'll be posting them on blogger. i have actually been enjoying my little hiatus from youtube and i honestly don't know when i'll post on there again. i will do a couple videos just letting people know where to find me and other random stuff, but i feel more comfortable and stress-free right where i am...

so that's about it, hope everything's been going well for those reading...

Blessings & Surprises

i have a computer again! i should be able to get on my compter within the next two weeks once i get the power supply problem situated.

but, all in all everything is good. i'm currently on spring break and don't have major plans because of work. i finally got another job, so now i have to jobs and can dig myself out of the rut that i ended up in these past couple of months...

for those who follow the youtube, idk when i'll be making a "real" video, but i will be making a quick video of something just so people know that i will eventually be back...most likely towards the end of this semester.

as far as personally, or as personal as i'll get on the internet, i'm getting a new dog next month. some of you know i had dalyla my lab/terrier puppy. i had to take her back to chicago, because she completely chewed through the panels around the bathroom door and i felt she was too big for the size apartment that i stay in...it's not little, but i'd rather have a bigger dog while living in an actual house. so she now lives with a friend of the family and has another dog to play with so she's happy...

but we're getting a smaller dog next month, we went to the pet store over the weekend and decided on a yorkie...

we're also, me & the bf, planning, or trying to plan, a vacation for this summer to vegas. i've never been so i'm super excited and pray that everything works out as planned so we won't have to push it back.

but other than that, nothing else exciting, or semi-exciting, to talk about. i did come home from my monring job to find a mysterious package. mysterious, because i wasn't expecting anything, but i opened it to find it full of maybelline great lash mascara...why i got it, i have no idea, but it's from hearst magazine. i've been raking my brain all day to figure out why they sent me it, so if anyone else got a similar package and has any clue as to why they got it, please let me know!

Computers, School, Dancing & Jobs

so i know i'm not posting as frequently as i usually do, but i have ALOT of stuff going on. school of course, but i still can't use my computer...money is EXTRA tight right now and i'm praying that some of these jobs i applied for call me this week. but, the job i do have switched me to a new department, shoes, so hopefully i'll get more hours...but, i would still need a second job.

my dance group is also swamped this semester with performances, so now it's some combo of going to school, work and practice. sad part is i'll be computer-less for real for a couple of days, because the bf has to send his computer to hp...yea, so idk when i'll make another post...

what's wrong with my computer...well the battery and charge cord thingy both died and it's about 70 bucks each to replace...yea

so, hopefully i can resume posting soon and prayerfully people start calling me this week for interviews...pray for me!

GIVE ME COLOR!

so after being on hiatus for almost 2 full semesters, my dance group made a triumphant and memorable come back last night during the Zeta Phi Beta's annual fashion show at my school!

we brought the campus to candy land and showed them why we've been on campus for so long. i got the chance to do the group's makeup...i was going for a dramatic, candyish, colorful look. due to some time dependencies i wasn't able to get closeup pictures of two of the girl's, one of them i absolutely loved!

Where you Been?

i know, i know...it's been a minute, but i'm still without my computer (need a new charger) and school has been kicking my butt lately...

but i have been browsing and will soon be buying a couple of springy things that i've recently seen and love. MAC released the HK collection, and while i love HK i am broke...so once i have the funds, if what i originally wanted is still available then i'll get it...

but one collection that i'm absolutely loving that i will most def get before the HK is creamteam! the lipstick and lipglass that i want is LAVENDER WHIP and EVER SO RICH...this lilac-esque purple is so in for spring and is one of the colors i'll be wearing in the future months.

since i'm currently in the boons i have to order mac online...the lipstick is sold out on the mac website, but i did find it on a department store's website, so i will be getting that...

another color that i'm def wearing this spring is yellow! i got my email from sephora talking about their new spring nail polishes and the yellow definately popped.

Another Winter Storm

my area was one of the areas affected by the winter storm that hit yesterday and is still going strong. we had a big ice storm last year around this time that shut the schools down. school was canceled today, but the bf still had to work. he had to drive my car since his isn't working...he got stuck this morning but we were able to get the car out of the hole.

i had just finished watching "bad girls club" and was starting in on "the real housewives of orange county" but i couldn't really concentrate because i heard this car making all of this noise outside. after 30 minutes i got frustrated and went to look outside and saw the bf trying to shovel my car out of the snow...

so i had to put on clothes and go help him, i took over shoveling after a while and we were able to move the car a few feet, but i gave up because the cold was getting to me. i broke a nail on my right middle finger, my left ring finger is swollen and i'll probably be sick for the first time this season...

my poor car's still out there stuck, but luckily they canceled school for tomorrow...i can still hear the ice hitting the windows.

Fighting Myself.

right now where i am with everything...i don't know what i want to do. i feel so displaced and not where i want to be or need to be in everything. i know everything happens for a reason and God never puts more on you than you can bare, but i'm tired.

i look at everything around me and question why it is the way it is or what's so different that everything seems to be harder for me. i feel like i'm drowning from so much stuff and i keep asking God when will i get out.

idk, i'm just ready to move on from where i am right now. you can't live life to the fullest if it's always slapping you in the face. i protect myself from so many people...why should i give so much when no one wants to listen...

i'm fighting myself to get over it, make it through and move to the next phase of life. i just wish the phase was a little more happier.

so, i know i'm a little late...later posting the most other blogs, but it's been a long day and i just wanted to get this in before the day actually ended.

i saw history be made to day as the first african american president was sworn in (i skipped class and everything, ssshhh!) but it was a wonderful ceremony and the obamas looked beautiful as usual. i also caught some of the commander in cheif ball footage (i hope i said it right...)

but all in all it's been a wonderful and historical day! so to leave you all...a couple of pics of the fit today...

I Can Only Have so Many Loves...Maybe Not!

the weather is colder, bone chilling colder, and there is one thing that i love to keep on my feet...SOCKS! my family, the bf and sometimes friends try to clown me because i have and continually wear long, knee high tube socks. i love them because they keep me warm during the winter days and i can wear the shortest shorts, but not feel so naked...

don't get me wrong, i wouldn't walk out of the house with short shorts and tube socks unless i was either going to dance practice or to work out. believe me, i get enough stares during the warmer months walking to the student center with shorts and long socks on...people are used to seeing me in them and i'll definitely be keeping these socks around for a while!

TARGET HAUL!

on another note i made a stop at target on my lunch break yesterday. quick side step...i originally went to avon to get some more 24 moisture, because i was out and that's the only thing i use on my face. it's light and airy and works well with my sensitive skin. my face can breath and i don't have breakouts...i get there looking for it, because i saw it last month, but decided to come back to get it. the guy tells me they don't carry it anymore!

i'm like, i was just in here like 2 weeks ago what happened? he said they stopped carrying it at the beginning of this month and he doesn't know why...WHAT?! so avon just disregarded the valued customers who religiously used the product without even a slight heads up. i know they knew about it for a while and i know the lady knew about it when i came in 2 weeks ago and she should've said something about it, because i def would've stocked up. so i'm upset and plan to make a call to avon personally...

but anyways...i went to target after stopping at avon and only picked up 3 things...a pack of pens (12 cents! they didn't ring up and they were the last ones so she asked the manager and they said ring them up for 12 cents, so yay me!) then i got the cutest tote for school, because i needed a new one and i don't carry book bags anymore... plus the nivea soft moisturizing cream for my face. i keep the smaller size of this stuff in my purse and it's the only thing outside of the avon that didn't actually clog my pores or become too oily, even though the avon was the best, i'm just stuck with this...

sorry this is all over the place, but when i asked the guy what the replacement was for the 24 moisture he told me it was the hydrofrming cream which could be used for night and day. i have this stuff already and it only says for night on the container...there is no way that is a respectful dupe for the 24 moisture! that stuff is so thick and OILY that i have to barely put it on to keep from looking like a sweaty pig all day! i am so disappointed in avon right now...

but on to happier things...i got this weird card in the mail saying final notice call about recieving a free ipod shuffle, week stay at a hotel or $50 gift card...WHAT?! i'm thinking it's junk mail but i call anyway...so random, this guy answers and he's like are you from SIU or some other school (can't remember) i'm hesitant like...uuhhmm...SIU...? he's like "well there's going to be a meeting/seminar at the ramada inn by the walmart and all you have to do is come, stay for the whole thing, like 30-45 minutes, and you'll be able to choose one of the 3 things."

i'm like "SERIOUSLY?" i am the QUEEN of telemarketing and BS SCAMS! do i have idot written all over my face?! of course i didn't say that, but i'm like "i don't have to do or pay anything, just show up?" and he's like yea just show up, but i have to rsvp because it's filling up fast...so i told him to sign me up and i'm going to this thing at 2 today...it better not be a waste of my time, because i will def go off in there. they just called me this morning reminding me about it...so we shall see, pray i leave with my gift card, because i don't want to have to start no mess!

because the economy is in the ruts my job has been drastically cutting hours (so i'm looking for a second job) but i haven't been doing anything all week, outside of job hunting, but online window shopping. i got some moolah today and had one of my many impulsive buying attacks...i know it's sad :(

but, i see it as being things i actually needed...i got my ipod touch yesterday and it needs to be protected. i figured that out last night and today, because all i did was...

so i went on ebay and found this pink case that i wanted that was on apple.com for $30 and i only had to shell out $20 plus free shipping! then i said, "well the screen has to be protected too..." so i found screen protectors that retailed for $15 for only $1 plus $2.99 shipping. so i said, "okay eva, you're done!" but as i proceeded to leave the ebay's home page something caught my eye...OBAMA TEES! i actually didn't think i would find anything i wanted for a reasonable price, but i did...the cutest tee with his face and president under for only $8.98 & free shipping!

Daddy's Girls Ep. 1...For Less?

New Beginnings...

okay, so the first episode of Vanessa and Angela's "Daddy's Girls" premiered tonight...i don't really know what to say about the show, i am liking it so far, but it's only the first episode it can go downhill pretty fast.

the series focuses on the girls' life in LA with their cousin jessica and neighbor alycia and of course it's not a simmon's show without rev. run. in this episode their cousin moves in with them and the girls deal with trying to get angela out of a "just got dumped by my boyfriend" rut. alycia sets her up on a blind date with a guy who is the total opposite of who she would normally date, but helps angela learn some new things about herself. i guess they had to come up with a way to end the show which looks like it will be one of the two typing a "progress report" to rev while he reads it aloud to justine...hhhmmm, don't know about that one...

idk if i'm going to do a "for less" with this show...maybe, maybe not, but it's still up in the air. i do know the heels angela wore on her blind date were FAB-U-LOUS! so, yea...still thinking about it and trying to get a feel for the show itself. so stick around and we'll see what happens next week...

Looking Ahead towards Spring Break...

i know i said that i've been itching to shop for warmer weather and browsing different clothing sites DOES NOT help in controlling the urge to spend.

everyone knows victoria's secret (VS) is having their semi-annual sale and i usually wait to go in the stores until the final days when everything's marked down even more, but i visited the site out of curiosity and looked through the swimsuits they had on sale... they have different style basic tops and bottoms on sale for as low as $2.99! act now to get the colors you want in your size because i almost didn't get the color i wanted in both the top and bottom.

i paid $5.99 for the top and the same for the bottoms. i think that's a good deal, especially if you like to have more than one swimming suit. now i just have to make sure the body will be right when it's time to wear it!

Time for a Little Change...

so, i get my ipod this week, yay! but since i had to wait the bf ordered me some more blowfish shoes (which got sent to his mother's house, so i had to wait a little longer to get them) but he got me 2 pair of the hobbit sneakers: one in black and the other in a pretty blue...

the blue ones are definitely more of a springish type color and it already has me anticipating a wardrobe change. idk about you guys, but i get started early shopping for the next season. most sites usually have some decent sales going on for the next season. i've been recently looking at sunglasses.

i feel kind of cheated, because i found these incredible pair of betsey johnson sunglasses on macys.com on sale for $40 and they retail either $80 or $90. i held off purchasing them and thought they would still be there to purchase later, but they were gone! i can still find them on the net, but definitely not for $40, boo...

but, i will be picking up a couple of pairs of shades from alloy in a few colors of the sunglasses i previously owned before i broke them...they run for $10.50 and they now have a wider color selection...

Book Spotlight! (Erotic City)

i know i just did a book spotlight, but i did say that i brought 2 books...what can i say about this book? first off i must have had one of my a.d.d. moments, because this book wasn't what i thought it was. okay, so the title is "erotic city," but sometimes the title doesn't really mean literally. i usually read the back of the book before purchasing and i think i erased everything i read, but one sentence that made it seem like it wasn't a sex book...

"but now something threatens to close the club's doors forever: a calculating, ruthless enemy who will stop at nothing to destroy Milan's dreams..."

yea...you'd think it wasn't just a sex book too. i'm going to be fair in this review, because i almost took it back when i found out what it really was about, and i'm not a big fan of majority sex scene books (i like to get to the point of the story) but this arthur pynk is a very good writer and she gives very good, in your face details. if you're into the sex type books she'll give you every single visual detail and then some...this book focuses on a female owner of a swingers sex club, milan. i never really paid attention to or wanted to know much about th swinging society, nor do i know anyone who is a part of it...when i say this is a very EXPLICIT book, i mean it and then some. besides the sex, the actual story itself was a good one, but i think the average reader would get lost in the sex scenes and lifestyle of the swingers and lose what the book is really about. the message is mostly female sexual liberation, i can understand that, but if you're not into graphic sex scenes describing oral, anal, vaginal and/or orgy activities then this is DEFINITELY NOT the book for you. i picked this up at borders as well and it ran for 13.99...my personal opinion, spend it on something else if you're not into that type of book, or if you like that kind of thing go ahead and buy it...

--p.s. this is more hardcore than an eric jerome dickey or zane book...

Book Spotlight! (The Midnight Hour)

WELCOME TO 2009!

so i took advantage of going to borders while i was in chicago since there's only a barnes & noble by my school and i had a coupon (yay!) i picked up two books, but this one focuses on Brenda Jackson's book "The Midnight Hour" a part of her Madaris series.

this was surprisingly my first book out of the series. i thought i had read a couple of others from the series, but didn't see them in my book collection unless i overlooked them.

this book was intense with having you totally hooked from the beginning to the end. i'm a mystery solving fein, and even though this is not so much about mystery as it is drama, it still has a way of fulfilling that urge.

the story focuses on a couple who were torn a part in tragedy and death, to later be pulled back together 5 years later; one with a new face and identity. that's all i can give you without giving it away and that's hopefully enough to make you want to go out and buy it. i mean it's only $6.99!

i'm definately going to make a trip to my barnes and noble to pick up more books from this series.

Let the Countdown Begin!

so this will be my final post of 08 after just 6 months doing this blog! this blog has grown so much from when i started and i look forward to major growth in the new year.

i love when a new year starts, because it's like starting new. i'm so ready for 08 to be over and for 09 to start, because i feel God has new and better things in store for me.

so because we're moving in to a new year, i had to start fresh with a new blog layout! i'm a libra and my life is all about balance. people who know me know that i stress this the most and my previous layout was not balanced at all. i felt cluttered and pushed to the right ( or left whichever way you look at it) side of the screen and felt like i was suffocating everytime i looked at it. so my new layout is well balanced allowing me not to have to put all my side posts on one side. sorry if you don't understand anything mentioned in this paragraph...it's a libra thing. or maybe just an eva thing...

as well with a new blog layout, my youtube and blog will be featuring new things in the new year. as for my blog, since youtube has been a complete jack, i will be posting blog only videos edited how i like with the music i want avoiding the possibility of my video either being pulled or not being able to be uploaded and my youtube will feature more personal videos so my subscribers get to better know who i am. i'm just feeling good about where i want to go and if somebody doesn't like it, they can get off or keep moving.

sadly, i will be spending my new years alone with my princess since i'm back at school and students are still on break and the bf has to go out of town for work. but oh well, i'm still going to have fun! i do have some things that i want to get done in the 09...

- i have 6 credit cards, but one i'm not paying someone else is, so really five and i want to pay off 3 of them by june, early july. i don't want to graduate with any credit card debt and will therefore only have student loans, boo!

- get a new car! nothing fancy or expensive, but something newer than what i have with not so many miles on it, because idk how much longer my little car is going to last. i have a 97 cavalier with over 150,000 miles on it and she's been acting up lately. my goal is a new car by the summer.

- get another job! the economy is kicking sears a** and i feel like they don't realize it! they keep pushing credit when people don't want it and they're cutting hours drastically. they must not realize people have rent and bills to pay, so i need another job before the new semester begins.

- right now i'm still saying i'm strecthing my relaxer, because i don't want to claim that i'm transitioning unles i'm going to do it all the way...i want to see my texture and see if i'll like working with it (i'm almost 9 weeks post) so far so good, but i'm stretching for the long run...09 means new hair regardless if it's relaxed or natural.

- SCHOOL, SCHOOL, SCHOOL! i love school, but i'm at my wits end. i want to pull my gpa up a little more before i get out (prayerfully in spring 2010) and do some things that i planned to do before gradution time rolls around.

those are just some major things i'm looking forward to for 09...

i'm definately going to do my last YT vid for 08, but it won't be in the post...you can check my video bar ALL the way at the bottom or my page later today...

i hope you guys had a WONDERFUL christmas! mine was lovely...

i couldn't leave for the chi until christmas eve because of work and the roads were HORRIBLE! if i wasn't in rain, i was in snow...but i get here safely and in one piece.

my fam met over my cousin's house for our first ever christmas eve dinner, because they wouldn't be able to make it to granny's for christmas. it was fun and nice to be around the fam after so many months...

as i stated in a previous post i only wanted 2 things for christmas, the ipod touch and the nikon s60 (ashton kutcher camera) my boyfriend is getting the ipod next week and my parents got me the camera. they got me a red kodak cam, because the one they wanted to get was sold out :( but she gave me the receipt and said i could go back and get the camera i wanted if it was in stock. so now i have a sony t77 which i absolutely LOVE!

i went to best buy and played around with the sony and nikon and the picture quality on the nikon wasn't as good as it should of been for a $300 camera and the sony, which cost the same but was on sale, had a much better quality. me needing a new camera was part of the reason why i haven't made any videos recently (which is a whole new post)

the camera is a touch screen as well and i guess i kind of fall into the brand loyalty category since my previous camera was a sony also.

i got my new cam today after multiple best buys sent me off about when their trucks were coming in and what was actually on it. i took this pic with the new cam...i wish you didn'[t have to buy the colored ones online...i couldn't give in to paying the shipping...

so that was my christmas guys! i supposed to go back to the dale tomorrow so pray for safe travel mercies! hope you all had a blessed and wonderful christmas and lets get ready for the new year!

I Want to be...Downtown! & Hauling for Hair Care

so i made a quick hair run because i needed to pick up a few things before my wash day tomorrow. i went to this vitamin outlet around the corner from my apartment, it was actully smaller than it apeared to be from the outside. i mainly wanted to look at the pricing to see if they would be cheaper than gnc or walmart. i'm going to my parents house for a few days (christmas, yay!) so i plan to do some heavy shopping. i might just get vitamins when i go there. my school is in the country, so there's not that many options available for shopping, so waiting until i visit them means i get to go downtown!

i know, totally off of hair and vitamins, but i am SO NOT a country, spaced out living type of girl. i lived 20 minutes from downtown chicago and loved it...shopping, restaurants and did i say shopping. i also just liked to hop on the train in the morning during the summer and spend ALL DAY downtown going from store to store and returning BROKE! but yea, i can't wait...

but back to what this post is really about...i did pick up some extra virgin coconut oil from there for $11. i then headed to sally's and picked up a full bottle of the aphogee two min reconstructurer. i finished the lil pack and loved the results after the second use, so i got a bottle since it was on sale. i also wanted to try the silk elements moisture treatment deep conditioner. i use the ors replenish conditioner or pak and love it, but heard good things about the silk elements so i brought two packs of that. it usually takes me about two uses to see if i really like something.

so that's what i hauled for my hair today. going back to the chi also means my beauty supply stores!! i have been out of my cream of nature original formula shampoo since august and they only have the new formula down here, but i know just where to go when i get back to pick up a couple of bottles of the good stuff :P and i also get to buy some more nyx stuff. i hate shopping online when i know i can get to it in person. plus i get to shop, shop, shop! i know, i've been talking about shopping a lot in this post, but when you go to a school that doesn't have a lot of good stores around it and everyone shops at the SAME place, you HAVE to shop online. i'm sorry, but i'm original and i refuse to be limited to the same overly purchased clothing everyone else buys so we can all look like we're related or "twins", but we're not...

but yep, hope the weekend's going good and you're feeling the holiday spirit. i have to work the close shift again tonight. we close at 11, boo, but yep!

My Hair Story

it's been a while...

so i've been mia for a little bit, and no it wasn't because of finals...i actually didn't really have problems studying or stressing over them, but my job has been giving me this crazy late hours since it's the holiday season and we're closing later so i just haven't been up to sitting and typing and uploading...:P and i know i missed a couple of "stopping debt fridays" which will hopefully resume tomorrow. i've just truthfully been lounging and the bf has me hooked on the sims! idk why it's so addicting to me, but i've gotten out of getting lost in the game for the past week and i've re-entered reality...

but this post is about my HAIR! yes, i feel like i can tell what its been through and where i'm at or trying to go. so i got my hair pressed and curled and weaved up until about the fourth grade. my hair was a little past shoulder length and my mother, not really a big hair person herself (she did the dies and cuts, you know the hair styles that were out in the eighties, early nineties) but she didn't have the patience for my hair so i started getting lye relaxers. i don't remember my hair or it's texture all i know is that by the time i got to the end of my fifth grade year i had a new stylist and she suggested i cut my hair because it was so damaged.

i was going through this wanting short hair phase anyway so i said okay, and after my mother's approval i got the "halle berry nineties cut." thus the hair drama began. i was okay with the cut for about 2 weeks and then i was over it which is why i will never cut my hair short again (hopefully) i had to go through trying to grow it out, but my stylist kept cuting it so, after my granny's complaints about my hair not being able to grow because it keeps getting cut and my frustration with my hair, i stopped going to my stylist and just let my aunt or cousin do it.

i did this until high school, meanwhile my mother is still going to the stylist, and because i really needed my hair done and it's high school i decided to go back to her around my junior year. "oh your hair grew so much, i haven't seen you inso long" yea, i know. but of course there was some reason for my hair to be cut agian. i said no, only trim, which for her is a cut. my hair stayed neck length all through the rest of high school until now. my last straw before i decided to relax my own hair was the cutting. i only trust a select few in my hair: my aunt, two cousins and the stylist. so since i'm away at school, i would wait until breaks to go hame and let one of them do my hair, so i'm gong months withou a relaxer and getting good growth, but i would go to the stylist and i'm back where i started.

the last straw, or two was this summer. i have A LOT of layers, so when i sat in the chair and she asked if i wanted my layers redone because they grew out, i hesitated because i thought they were still there, but said go ahead ahe's the stylist she knows what she's doing...i got out that chair and my hair was so short i CRIED when i got in the car i was so upset. that was in may. i went back in july and she said that i should think about getting a bob, because it's more workable and i could keep my length in the front, but bye to the the back. she told me to think about it for when i came back the next time. yall don't know how fast i hustled out of there after she was done and i never looked back! she has been my stylist for a LONG time, but she is very scissor happy and i feel if i want to get the growth that i want i need to do it on my own.

i started the healthy hair trip last year before i knew about the growth forums and videos and now i want the length. i could let my aunt or cousins do my hair, but they don't like to work with the new growth. so here's my dilemma. i keep thinking about going natural, but i know i'll get frustrated and put a relaxer in. i don't want to go through the transitioning or big chopping, and then go back to relaxers because i would be highly upset. my thing is if it becomes a hassle or becomes work i won't do it. it's the same for my healthy eating which is why i don't count calories, get on scales or do diets...it's all more than what i think i need to do. my mother doesn't think i would be able to do the natural thing, but i want to see and work with my natural texture...i'll be 8 weeks post on saturday. i usually go 10 weeks, but i was thinking about 12. now i'm thinking about going longer just to see if i like what's growing in.

i'm upset, because i want to relax for christmas, but i won't be and now my mother wants to take family pics...if anyone has any advice or something, let a sister know! but sorry for such a long post...

here are some new growth shots, dry, that i took today and i also have a fotki...i have too many picture accounts (photobucket, flickr, fotki) and it's not much on there, but i plan to get more up soon. i've been using a no lye relaxer since my first big cut in fifth grade and i use ors in regular, i've used cream of nature once and i liked it, but idk what i'm going to use the next time i relax...

i did another FOTD for you ladies...i noticed that i've been using a lot of makeup that i haven'[t used in a while. i had to pull out my pink e/s from sinful colrs and do something with that today with none other than a nude lip...

i also did another vid today...this one is short, but the one i originally did i didn't check if my head could be seen, so the top part of me was cut off. i just did a video to show my braid out results since i re-did that hot mess of a two strand twist out...that was not hot! but here's the short vid!

after stopping at walmart and having a short argument he just pulled up to this restaurant called ryan's. neither one of us knew what this place was so we went in and it was a buffet! i don't particularily care for buffets...idk, something about so many people hovering over the food and it sitting out so long...but i actually like it! the dessert WAS NOT good, except fot the ice cream, but everthing else i ate was pretty good...

today i was feeling a little smokey like...been feeling that way for a while, i guess it's the season. i did a smokey reddish, brownish type of thing. i used my milani spiced which i love to use to add a smidge of color along with flame...this is what it came out as with nyx smokey look on the lips...

Work it Out!

so, i've been looking in the mirror a lot lately and noticed my stomach has lost it's hardness...i blame living off campus with a car and not having to walk as much as before, so now i have to get back to my walking (i mean i do have a dog that could get walked) and continue my healthy eating.

if i didn't eat the way i do i probably would've gained more wait than i have. i'm also cutting out the fried goodness (fries and cheese sticks) for a WHILE. i just had to take a step back and figure out what was causing the weight gain (not as much physical activity, increased intake of BK and Arby's, not watching my portions, and eating late) the bf is also a reason, because sometimes i wait for him to get off to eat dinner and i don't like to eat after 8 or neither of us feel like cooking so we take run to a fast food restaurant.

luckily i caught it early before i would've had a major set back and been veryupset, so by christmas i should be back to looking how i was before the school year started, but i'm taking it further because i'm getting more defined abs! but i went to walmart and picked up a couple of exercise dvds to help me: Denise Austin's "Best Belly Fat-Blasters" and Billy Blank's "Celebrity Taebo."

i wasn't really feeling billy and tried to take him back but walmart wouldn't take it, the girl was like i could only exchange for the same thing...WHAT? i'mbringing i tback because i don't want it, so why would i exchange for the exact same thing...so since i don't want to waste 14 bucks i'm giving billy a second chance. i really wanted the 10 year aniversary dvd. but i AM loving denise austin. the dvd combines 7 of her fav workouts...and let me tell you she WORKS THEM ABS OUT! i love it! they're each 10 minute workouts, you could do one a day or create your own workout combining them in different orders.

but yep, thought i'd drop in on what's been going on with my health...i have a teast in the morning, blah! and finals next week, yikes! i'm just ready for the semester to be over so i can take my month long break :O but good luck on your finals if i don't check in again this week!

Small Haul...

my stuff i ordered from cherry culture also came on friday...i took advantage of the nyx sell they had and got five things...

i got two lipsticks: chambrod & java, 1 lip gloss: smokey look, 1 lip liner: coffee and 1 eyeliner in black...i love it all, but the java lipstick is not what i thought it was going to look like. i knew the swatches on the site were off so i used the ones on the nyx website but it still was a little more shimmery than i thought...more in the gold family.

so today's debt post is later than usual because i had to work 1 to 10 today and it honestly was not as busy as i thought it was going to be...it actually felt like a saturday :(

Tip #9: BALANCE YOUR CHECK BOOK!

EVERYTHING is online nowadays, but believe me when i say that if you think you have a certain amount of money looking online, then come back later and see you're overdrawn...it probably could've been avoided. take it from someone who knows...BALANCE THAT BOOK! that way you know right there the CORRECT amount of money you should have. and if it;s off then CALL THE BANK and get your account figured out!

Tip #10: KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SIGNING UP FOR!

some stores, mostly banks, offer no interest for the first six months. it's easy to put off paying because that interest isn't piling up. believe me, that six months goes by FAST. pay the card off before the six months is up or get it to as low of a balance as you can, because when those interest rates kick in and can get hard trying to keep up.

Look @ That HAIR!

so it was about that time of the week again!

i had been wearing a braid out since wednesday because i washed again that day due to my hair not cooperating, but it was time for me to wash it out...i usually only wear a braid out for 3, maybe 4 days...

i had planned to do a video, but that didn't quite work out, so the next wash i will try to do one...

i did a co-wash when i washed on wednesday and i just really needed to shampoo, so i prepared my hair for the shampoo by pre-pooing with my vo5 moisture milk conditioner and extra virgin olive oil... i kept that in for about an hour and a half while i did my laundry and then rinsed and shampooed with my aussie moist shampoo since i'm out of my cream of nature...i then conditioned with my suave humectant and left that in for a couple of minutes, rinsed then deep conditioned by mixing my tressemme smooth and silky conditioner with honey...i just eye balled it and applied to my hair in sections. i left that on for about an hour while i watched the AMA's (beyonce snapped!) i then washed that out and put in my cream of nature leave in and lightly spritzed the aphogee green tea recontructor i let my hair air dry until it wasn't wet, just damp then i blow dried holding the dryer about 10 inches from my hair... i didn't dry it COMPLETELY dry, but enough so that it was straight and then applied my ORS moisturizer and sealed with a little olive oil. i made sure i moisturized my ends and edges good and put my satin tie cap on and called it a night!

just a little pictorial of one of my wash routines...i'm still looking for some coconut oil! i think i found a couple of health food stores down here so i plan to make a trip very soon...

i know, i know...i usually do this post a little bit earlier, but it has been a long day. got paid today and what was the first thing i had to do? pay credit cards lol, so that brings me into this weeks stopping debt tips...

Tip #9: ELIMINATE & MINIMIZE!

-i for the longest have had just two credit cards, but i have recently added 3 (yes i know) more and will be closing the 2 that i have already had after i finish paying them off. be realistic about what type of credit cards you have, don't give into the right there promotion satisfaction. you should have at least 1 bank credit card and if you MUST have a store credit card, look at what the benefits are that come with the card. get rid of cards you either don't use or don't need.

Tip #10: DIRECT DEPOSIT!

-i absolutely LOVE direct deposit, because it eliminates the trip to the bank. many companies let you decided how many, usually about 2, accounts you want your paycheck to go into. set your direct deposit up so that every time you get paid you automatically have money going into you checking AND savings. try to get about 15-30% of your check going into a savings account...believe me you NEVER know when you may need that extra money (i surely learned that these past few month!)

so this week has been BLAH! nothing but tests and papers in preparation for the thanksgiving break...poo me i have to stay in the dale for thanksgiving because of work, but nothing really note worthy to mention.

i hauled some goodies from VS! what girl doesn't love VS pink? they have the panty party going on, 7/25, so i picked up some undies and i also got a tee and hoodie...

i purchased some stuff off of cherry culture so i could take advantage of the nyx promo they had going on that ends today [NYX25] so some how the address it gets shipped to got screwed and i've been trying to contact them, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! like no one answers the phon eyou have to leave a message and i don't want my makeup to go to my parents house 5/6 hours away :( so i'm upset about that.

then i made a video today, but i don't know if i'm going to post it, just a review and haul of the stuff mentioned above...didn't realize my laundry was that visible behind me...i'll probably post it if my computer ever gets out of this recovery phase!

this calls for a text color change! so i sent hp my computer last week so they could fix the wireless, which they did, and i get it back and it works fine that night...i wake up, turn the computer on and it's doing the same thing it was doing back in august, so i call them up and after he has me doing things to the computer for an hour he tells me i need a new hard drive, which is what i said FOUR MONTHS AGO! but they were going to make me pay all this money, but this time they couldn't charge me since i just got my computer back from them for the wireless, so he had to send me a new hard drive and recovery disk and it's supposed to take 4-6 hours, i'm only somewhere in hour #2! so hopefully this will be the last of the laptop drama, and i'm warranted for the next 90 days which is long enough for me to invest in a mac!

so that's about it...pray for me, because i have to work 8 am to 3:30 pm tomorrow and we're having this CRAZY sale, but other than that...

Just A Lot of...EVERYTHING!

just took a mickey d's run...ate a egg and cheese biscuit, hash brown...and drank a much needed cup of coffee...

princess loves her coffee too...

so it's been a LONG weekend, mostly saturday. i had to work 2:30 to close and we had this GINORMOUS sale so of course it was HECTIC! this makes me a little scared for the day after thanks giving...
but anywho, i'll rewind and start with friday...

FRIDAY

went to class as usual and carbondale did what it does best...RAIN! i was supposed to take back my hollister sweater, but i keep leaving it at home:( i think they made that sweater for REALLY skinny people...it wasn't working!

i had to pick up a few hair things so i stopped by walgreens to get my olive oil hair lotion and remembered...i wanted to try the aphogee stuff. so i hauled it over to sally's to see if they had it (i forget that we have a sally's down here) and after not seeing it and finally asking I FOUND IT! of course they would be sold out of what i actually came for...the 2 minute reconstructor...so i bought the sample with 2 uses and the keratin & green tea spray...

then i had to get ready for my performance for my dance team, sorry no pics, but i did this eye that i ABSOLUTELY LOVED!

afterwards i came home for my weekly shampoo...usual routine is prepoo, shampoo, condition with humectant, deep condition with tressemme & honey, leave-in, air dry, moisturize then blow dry...take all that but add the 2 minute reconstructor after deep conditioning and the keratin & green tea spray after that and i have to say i LOVE the spray stuff, i would have to give the other stuff a couple more rounds to see how i'm truly feeling about it...

deep conditioning and making enchiladas...YUM!

i just really like this one :P

SATURDAY

i fell asleep before blow drying so i had to do that when i woke up, lounged then rushed off to work around 2 something running late...already mentioned how hectic that day was, but i did a really quick haul at target during my break. i needed another makeup bag, but smaller for my lippies, because I CARRY TOO MANY IN MY PURSE! so i got a cute little one that has skulls on it which i HATE skulls and i'm still contemplating blacking them out and cutting it off the zipper...plus i also picked up some honey roasted peanuts ;}

my LIPPIES! they like their new home 8>

SUNDAY

now i'm sitting here letting my breakfast digest and finishing uploading my video i did thursday...i'm without my beloved laptop so i'm using the bf's and his software is older (he's supposed to be upgrading but who knows when that will happen) and the quality of my video kind of, no, REALLY SUCKS! but it's a lip product tag video...

i pre-warn you that i look a lil coo coo in the vid...but i wasn't on anything nor was i intoxicated...it was a NATURAL HIGH...

-many banks have begun to offer alerts systems that help you manage your account anywhere you are! you can you can adjust the alerts to know when money is being taking out, how much is being taken out, who's taking it out, when things post, when you're below a certain amount, when you're overdrawn and so much more! some banks even offer text alerts for no extra charge so you can check up on your account virtually anywhere!

TIP #8: SEPARATE THE NEEDS FORM THE WANTS!

-everyone wants something and we often push the needs aside to get the wants. the wants eat up at the money you DON'T have! before making that want purchase stop and run through the list of everything that needs to be payed for...if you can splurge then do it! but if you haven't gotten the priorities out of the way PUT IT BACK! it'll still be there when you come back. budget a day or two just for the wants so your needs don't get eaten up!

GIVE ME MORE!

today since there's no school i went for a more minimal fresh faced look...liner, mascara & nude lipstick.

so i picked up a couple of things over the weekend/week so far...it was stuff i either needed or wanted to try out.

so i had to get a clarifying shampoo and got the suave for a dollar and some change

i've been putting off getting the l'oreal carbon black liquid liner and finally got it...love the applicator, i'm wearing this liner in the pic above^

so i've been wanting to try falsies and got 2 nyc lashes for like $1.74 at target...i tried to put them on just playing around and it's NOT working! i think my lahes are too long because they KEEP GETTING IN THE WAY! lol, but i'm def going to get them to work...i'm wearing these bad boys!

the lipstick that i actually order from MAC came today! fresh brew (lustre) is a GORGEOUS nude, LOVE IT! i'm also wearing this in the pic above^

GIVE ME A REVIEW!

i'm finally doing a review on a couple of hair products that i've previously purchased over the past couple of weeks...

i absolutely LOVE the conditioner...i've only used the shampoo once and even with prepooing it still leaves my hair feel stripped. i'm going to give a try again, but the conditioner is total love...you can instantly feel how soft and moisturized your hair feels once you put it in!

i've been deep conditioning with this tressemme conditioner and my hair feels SO MUCH STRONGER! i love the little pump and i feel that i get way more than my moneys worth with this stuff ($3.98/bottle) definitely pick this up! it leaves your hair feeling so smooth, soft and manageable!

i had to get a new SOMETHING for my hair at night. i had been using a silk wrap thing, but by the morning that thing would be on the floor! i picked this silk bonnet tie thing up at walmart for a dollar and some change...LOVE THIS! the tie is so convenient and help to ensure that i wake up with that thing on my head! if you're a wild sleeper i would definitely recommend getting this!

i hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend! it's been a long one, especially since daylight savings time changed to day so it feels like sunday is taking FOREVER!

friday i went to my lil sister's basketball tournament...she only played on game though. i also hit up walmart and got tressemme conditioner with silk protiens and a vo5 moisture milk shampoo.

today has been lllooooonnnggg!!!! time fell back an hour, so naturally i woke up at 6 something and i've been up ever since. i finally couldn't take it anymore and took a trip to the mall...why idk, but as usual EVERYTHING was on sale! so of course i picked up a few things...

i picked up this frangrance set from jessica simpson, jessica's fancy, at macy's. the fragrance lady sold me and this stuff smells so GOOD! it's different from my other perfumes and it comes with a lotion, body wash, perfume roll and spray bottle all for $65...just the spray bottle was $75...i think the set was a good deal! i also got to choose a free bag and i chose the gold guess duffel style bag...can't wait to wear it.

so that was my weekend! now i have to prepare for school again, poo and tests, double poo...but the semester is a lil more than half over and i can't wait for it to be completely over! lol

open up a savings account that doesn't require a minimum limit...some banks offer savings accounts that let you set a goal to reach and then rewards you for reaching that goal without fees or minimum balances...Fifth Third has a savings account like this!

i hauled a very small hall yesterday...i decided to stop by cvs since i was out that way and since they usually have a good selection of hair care products. i picked up the tresseme heat tamer, aussie moist conditioner and the orly top coat/bottom coat polish. i almost bought the organix conditioner, but stopped because it was the same price as other conditioners but way smaller! i'm liking the tresseme heat tamer so far, it leaves my hair really soft and it doesn't feel like there's a lot of product. i also got the orly because i heard it was really good at preserving your nail polish...

i also order OPI's you don't know jacques. i saw it on a blog and fell in love with the color...it's like a taupe gray, plus the buyer has the polishes at a decent price...

i don't celebrate holloween, but i hope you all have a very very VERY safe weekend...plus my college town shuts down on holloween weekend, because of some bad riots that happened a few years ago...so yep! i think it's on youtube, type in (carbondale holloween riots) and watch the destruction! lol

Healthy Eats!

so i wanted to do a food post! i LOVE to eat and this post is just some healthier alternatives to turn to and help satisfy cravings without packing on the pounds! i eat all of the stuff listed below and love them which is why these are some of my favs...

HEALTHY CHOICE FRESH MIXERS:

i absolutely love these! i got a couple to try out and after a few minutes in the microwave, a little pepper(love my pepper) and parmesan cheese it was hard to put this little container down. i tried the zesty marinara since it was the only one without meat and it was delish! i definately will be buying more...great for a quick lunch or even late dinner!

LEAN POCKET THREE CHEESE AND BROCCOLI:

lean pockets have a minimum selection for vegetarians...three cheese & broccoli and three cheese...but i love these for a snack or even for lunch. my fav is the three cheese and broccoli, i love cheese, but the three cheese got to be overbearing...that are many choices fro you meat eaters to choose from and they've even made them healthier by using whole grain bread!

CUCUMBER AND TOMATO SALAD:

i fell in love with this salad at a young age and still eat a lot of it...slice up some cucumbers and tomatos, sprinkle a little pepper and drizzle some red wine or italian dressing and you're in heaven! great alternative from your regular salad (i get a little sick of lettuce myself) also a great way to introduce these veggies (or fruits) into your kid's diet...look at the pretty colors!

TROPICANA FRUIT SMOOTHIES:

i found these by accident and wanted more! if you have a problem getting your daily dose of fruits and are always on the go these are the drinks for you! it tastes so smooth and creamy and the flavors burst in your mouth. it's very refreshing!

LAY'S KETTLE COOKED REDUCED FAT POTATO CHIPS:

i'm a chip lover and love the crunchiness of kettle cooked chips (my absolute fav is the mesquite bbq) but i could sit and just eat, eat, eat and forget to stop! i love these, because there's lesser fat, but i still get the crunchiness and that slight saltiness that i sometimes crave...plus i don't feel so guilty eating a little more than i should!

SMART FOOD WHITE CHEDDAR POPCORN:

i fell in love with these last year...i love cheese popcorn, especially white cheese, put these are even healthir and still taste cheesy yummy!

EDY'S FRUIT BARS:

my bf will tell you that i go through at least two of these a day!! these bars are a healthy alternative to ice cream and popscicles...it's made of REAL fruit, it can't get any better than that! my fav flavors are strwberry and grape...stock upon these!

of course you can't stay completely healthy unless you drink plenty of WATER! it helps keep you cleansed and refreshed...

...save the planet, skip the plastic!

OMG TODAY WAS SO COOOOLLLLDDDD! lol, but it really was cold...it's been warm which is how it usually i around this time of year, but i woke up this morning and said no! i'm a fall/winter fan and i'm from the chicago area, but i've been at school and used to this weather that it just kind of shocked me lol.

but i did do a FOTD, i did a kind of smokey green with a pink lip...

i wore my black gap trench and puuled out my green and black checkered scarve, because i was not playing with the cold and sickness today!

i look so WARM! lol

as you can see i relaxed my hair and i also trimmed the ends...i do plan on picking up some hair care products later this week.

on a side note, tell me why i came homw from school and the dog was locked in the bathroom! idk how the door got locked, but i panicked and just about broke the side of the door tryibg to get her out...but she's safe, lol.

LOTD (finally!) & Hair Care

i finally did a LOTD...i wanted to do a smokey fall day look that was suitable for work since i didn't want to look too clubby. this is a purplish/gray look...

of course i had to take one with my lovelies...

i also did a video! my first one in like forever!

i also relaxed my hair today...i'm trying to get my hair to looking healthier, because lately it's been looking really dry. i also want to grow it out a little so i guess i'll be tracking my progress on here! i tried the creme of nature relaxer (stepped outside my normal olive oil relaxer) and i actually really liked it. i use a lot of their products already, but i might switch to using their relaxer.

i also stopped at target and got some hair care products; along with some latex legging! and i picked up the aussie moist shampoo and the suave humectant conditioner...i know a lot of people use the nexxus, but i wanted to try it out since it was a cheaper alternative and it also claimed to work just as well as the nexxus...

i haven't used the shampoo yet, since i did a relaxer and used the neutralizing shampoo

after i shampooed i used the conditioner as a shampoo, rinsed then conditioned again adding honey to the mix...i don't know how the nexxus works, but i'm liking the suave so far, my hair feels really hydrated...
i'm going to continue buying different products and trying them out to see how they work for me...i might order some unrefined shea butter, but i'm looking for coconut oil...

so i read the book The Secret Life of Bees since my mother got it for me and i actually loved it! the story is captivating and you feel like you're there with the women going through their struggles. since i read the book i naturally wanted to see the movie last week, but that didn't happen...but i do poan to see it soon.

on a SAD note...i found out about Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother's murder through a text last night (friday) at work. i didn't want to believe it, but it's obviously true and i feel it's truly sad and i'm praying for her and her family and that her nephew returns home safely.

i came across the keeping it simple sista blog and i an excited about getting my hair to an even healthier state. i've been doing my own relaxers, especially since i'm at school and i don't want to pay nor have the money for going to the shop, but i've been doing them and trimming my ends. i want to try out the unrefined shea butter and coconut oil and see how long i can get my hair. i don't want it too long, but atleast to the top of my bra strap...i think that's realistic.

i've been using the olive oil relaxer, but it's time for another one, been about 10 weeks, and i decided to try creme of nature's relaxer since i love their ohter products...i'll try to document my hair progress and post pics of my "hair journey" and should be relaxing my hair this weekend...

Stopping Debt!

so i've decided to start doing some posts on reversing debt, mainly credit card debt, and getting control over your finances. every friday i'll do a debt post giving ideas and tips and also tracking my progress and hopefully yours so together we can elimante or better grasp a hold of our debt!

right now i have 3 credit cards...i have two visas and a old navy (ON) credit card. i've had one of my visas since i was 18, my ON card since the second half of my freshman year of college, and i just got my second visa this month.

now to get more personal...i have about $450 in debt on my first visa, $600 on ON, and about $200 on my new visa. my new card is emergency only, and was used for an emergency and also acts as overdraft protection for my bank account.

Tip #1: PAY AT LEAST THE MINIMUM BALANCE EVERY MONTH!

-even if you get your balance to beyond your means of income PAY THE MIN BALANCE, because this reflects better on your credit history showing that you keep up your payments month to month and you don't skip or miss a payment. missing a payment shows negativity on your credit history and adds late fees.

because this is my first debt post i'll give 2 tips today...

Tip #2: CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!

-if you feel you will be late, call the company and let them now! ask for an extension, which most companies can do, and if you can't get an extension make sure they put a note on your account saying when you will be able to pay so you can call back to have the late fee reversed.
*remember this is YOUR account and this affects YOUR credit history! they want their money and you can get the company to work for you!

today started off so WRONG! my car started, but stopped on me at the gas station, because the spark plug keeps coming off. My debit card kept getting declined when i tried to get gas so i missed my midterm this morning, but i call and left my professor a message so hopefully i can make it up(he's a pretty nice guy)

i have to go to work today so i had to figure out how to get money to get to my job...i called my bank and since i STILL haven't received my card i just transferred enough money from it to get gas and my COMPUTER! i'm so happy, because i missed my baby...it still over heats and they say it's the manufacturing so i have to call hp AGAIN, but it's all clean and i'm now in the process of getting all my programs back on.

now i can get back to REALLY blogging and doing my vids and not have to worry about my trifling bf hogging the computer (even though i didn't do that to him with mine) but thought i'd give a quick update on my life so far...

What was I Talking About?!

i just read over my previous post and i have no clue what i was talking about, i think i just typed what i was thinking which explains why it sounded so scattered.

i was talking about the economy, because of food choices as of late. since i've been in college i have eaten out A LOT, but now that i'm paying for everything i've been cutting back. last night we made pizza from scratch. the best crust is the JIFFY crust...i had spinach and tomatos (vegetarian thing) and he had turkey, spinach, tomatos and mushrooms...

it was tasty but it made me realize how i can't just call my fav itilian restaurant and get my penne pasta or cheese and tomato calzone...been eating a lot of pasta roni, rice a roni, lean pockets and french fries...quick and cheap, but i have been saving more by not eating out.

not that i get to see much of it, because the gas station takes it all...luckily the price where i am is down to $2.80/gallon (please let the $/barrel keep going down)

i've also been watching a lot of MSNBC thanks to the election. since my major is radio/tv we have to be "current" in the current events and for one of my classes i get quizes every week so that explains that...but this is what the post should've of originally been about...don't criticize me too bad, i was still a lil jumbled from the morning activities lol

The Economy--POO!

so the economy has been kicking my a@@! i'm still waiting for all of my stuff to come from my bank and it's getting frustrating, because it's been like 3 weeks, but they said it should be coming any day now a week ago.

but anyways...since the economy is pooed i've been trying to find cheaper alternatives for food...meaning not so much eating out:<>

i haven't been shopping much lately (trying to get the credit card debt down) but i know i ravved about the open front cardigans and i saw one at target that i really want. it's $17 and they have a stone blue color that's to die for so that's on my future purchase list.

sorry no pics today, i'm supposed to be at school, but my car wouldn't start! my bf told me that if i left a little gas in my car when it started getting cold at night it would freeze and i wouldn't be able to start it. idk if that's what happened. but i'm sitting here in my PINK loungies upset, because i'm stuck in the apartment until he gets off work...

so i woke up early for nothing and i can't fall back to sleep...on another note my dance team started practicing again...we have a show the 29th! i thought i would review since i have nothing elose to do and there's nothing but re-runs on tv, but i can't find this ONE song! it's by rick ross, it's slow, everyone thinks it's called "rolling" but it's not because i can't find the right one anywhere. it goes "rolling, rolling, rolling" then i can't remember after that but it's slow and it repeats for like the first min of the song. if anyone has ANY idea of what it is or what it may be can you PLS let me know! i would appreciate it...

New Puppy & My Shoes!

i got a new puppy last week! came home to yet another surprise from the bf...no exactly the type of dog i wanted, but she's still cute. i decided to name her Da'Lyla and get out of the habit of giving my pets royal names i.e. Duchess and Princess.

she is a handful, like every other puppy...she's a lab/terrier mix, so i hope she doesn't get too bi8g, because i didn't want a big dog to begin with...

princess warmed up to her quicker than she did harlee...still don't know what happened to her, but i think the bf does...

i absolutely ADORE this pic!

my shoes the bf ordered for me off delia's finally arrived yesterday! some of you know that this was in one of my top five lists and they are even cuter on and in person! i cannot wait for it to feel a little more like fall out here so i can wear them...it's been raining a lot lately so i hope that's a sign saying goodbye 80 degree weather! i LOVE fall/winter!

today was another rainy day...there hasn't been many since the school year started which is surprising, but i'm not fooled yet. i decided to do a smokey grayish, blue EOTD and kept it simple on the lips with my trusty vicky secrets beauty rush gloss in lotta coolada.

i'm so excited, because i should be getting my computer out the shop today...i switched banks so i've been waiting for all my stuff to come in the mail. i got the debit card on saturday so i should get the credit card this week...hopefully today.

i know, a credit card, but this is an emergency! but the bf brought a laptop back with him from home so i'll be using that for now even though i'm not too familiar with it as i am with my laptop.

but i went shopping this weekend, further increasing my credit. making the excuse that it was my birthday so i deserved it. i'm not in as much debt as i've seen with other people credit-wise, but i plan to pay everything off by next summer.

**tip** even if you spend more than you should, continue to pay at least the minimum balance, and if you feel you might miss the due date-CALL THEM! this is your credit and they want that money, so they'll extend the date for you or reverse the fees, but make sure to call ahead of time and always pay on time!

i'll post what i brought later...i'm not at home. and the bf was being extra nice to me and ordered me these shoes i wanted from delia's that i posted in an earlier post...so i should be getting those soon too.

A Day Being 21!

so yesterday was my 21st birthday! it fell on a thursday this year...its getting closer to falling on the weekend, but i didn't do much (that's why i celebrate the whole weekend...will definitely party hard)

but since i had school the next day, i basically went to school, practice, delved in the birthday love and RELAXED!

finally have a FOTD and outfit!

wanted to look preppy, but not so preppy...how i like it, mix it up! everything's from ON, except the t shirt is from wetseal.

did a smokey purple since that's the color of the season...

me & the bf...he thinks he's sexy, but he cooked me dinner & made brownies the night before...

i thought i'd do a post since i barely posted for september...which highly sucks. my computer's still in the shop, it's fixed, but some silent financial obligations attacked me abruptly over the past couple of weeks -CHASE SUCKS- and therefore i'm in the process of shifting around where my finances lay...

but on to more happier things...I GOT A NEW KITTY! yes another one, but i think i've lost her. i still have princess...

she is still soooo bad!

but i returned home after work to see that the bf went against my wishes and got another cat...i want a lil cutesy dog which i was supposed to get over the summer and i'm still waiting for...but this tiger looking kitty named HARLEE awaited me. she is supposedly the same age as princess, 4 months, but she is HUGE!

she was free and came with shots and things, which is why i didn't fuss much about it, because that's one less penny out my pocket...but i CAN'T FIND HER! i got her friday, saw her saturday, hustled goodbye to her sunday on my way to work and i haven't seen her since. the bf had her before i came home, but when i returned from the store she was nowhere to be found. now the apartment is not that big, so i should be able to find a cat who is lighter and considerably bigger than princess, but she is NOWHERE IN THE APARTMENT.

so i get blamed for possibly letting her get out, when i think i would of seen her get out the door, because i always see princess try to make a run for it...and if she did get out she would be in the hall and i'm sure someone would of knocked on the door and asked if she belonged to me if they saw her...

so i have no idea where she is and it's driving me crazy, because i just got her and i was growing fond of her quickly...so hopefully she comes up from wherever she's hiding...
this is the closest that i was able to get the two, because princess WAS NOT having her intruding on her space...they look oh so cute and friendly now, but believe harlee swiped princess a couple of times...
i have a couple FOTDs and outfits to post which will come soon...and also i will be celebrating my 21st on thursday so pray i get through and handle myself responsibly and also pray my dance team's tryouts go well this week, because we need a member boost!

long time since i've done a post...i know, but the computer is STILL not fixed...but moving on...

apparently gray is the new black this season (it's been the new black for me for a while now) but i thought i'd put together an outfit just to show my style...just a lil bit

but i'm so loving these open front cardigans, the sweaters with no buttons. i feel we as women, and guys too, should be able to be stylish and still comfy. for some reason i think i'm supposed to be living in cali or somewhere in florida like miami where i'm not restricted by the full on blow of the breezy cold...but back on topic...i'm feeling the gray and the comfy, but oh so chic styles for the season. fall/ winter is my favorite time of year...but just thought i'd give a little insight.

WTF!!

i think my computer got mad at me, because after i posted on monday feeling good about getting back into the swing of things...my computer died! i'm pretty sure i've figured out that it's the hard drive...so i'm trying to find some cheaper solutions to my problem.

no thanks to HP who didn't have the courtesy or decency to send me an email saying, "hey your warranty expires in a week!" or something of the like. no, the tell me when i call, "oh, your warranty expired 5 days ago...sorry there nothing we can do, but you can pay us $50 to troubleshoot, then $300 to ship it to us if the problem is the hard drive!"

sorry, i'm not paying $50 for them to do something i figured out how to do on my own...and BEST BUY isn't any better! $60 to figure out what the problem is and then $300 to do the labor, but oh wait...you have to spend another $100 to get a new hard drive! NO THANK YOU!

so now it's looking like i'm going to do the installing myself and find a someone who can help me get the data back on my computer for CHEAP! i think i've found this place by my school so i'm definitely going to check them out, because spending 2-3 hours at the computer lab when i already don't have any time is NOT working!

if anyone has any suggestions or advice, PLEASE HELP ME! HP needs to definitely re-adjust their technical support and BEST BUY needs to get realistic...

i know i sound like i'm complaining, but if you went through what i've been going through since i came back down to school you would feel the same way! why does the bad things always happen when you leave home...?

it has been a CRAZY weekend! first the bf had to move in, yea we're sort of, kind of living together lol, then i started my job this weekend. i started training and i had this whole "work wearable" video that i did to put up on YT, but i didn't like the lighting, angle or anything else...so that might be a re-do...

but, my weekend has been consumed in getting the bf situated, including myself, and preparing for the BEYOND LONG week that i have ahead of me...my job almost wanted me to work today, but luckily she decided to give me the day off and start the week on monday (tomorrow).

i must've almost fell off my futon when i saw the jean commercial for ON earlier this week. if you don't know i LOVE me some ON...they are having what i think it the biggest bargain for your buck sale tomorrow (and just in time for me, because i NEED more jeans) but their famous five pocket jeans for ONE DAY ONLY! will be $7 for kids and $12 for adults! i think that's absolutely AMAZING and will definitely be there in the AM. of course there's a 3 pair limit, POO, but i will get my 3 and maybe have my sister go back and get me some more lol...but hope you ladies and gents take advantage of this TOMORROW!

It's That Time Again...

school has started and at first i was happy about it, but now i'm over it (i know! that was quick!) i think it's the classes i'm taking...i'm in my major classes, but still have those couple of classes i have to take before i get out of here, which i'm taking two of the three this semester.
can you say BORING! i had one day of philosophy and two of linguistics and i'm in complete boredomville (just made that up) philosophy i could kind of expect it, but ling...i took that my first year and it wasn't bad, but i have to take this second one to fulfill my foreign language...definitely not the same as the first one i took...

the new year also brings me back to DANCING! i absolutely love it and i'm so excited because i get to put all of these ideas, dancing and makeup into reality...i'm not going to spill the beans...the performances will be on youtube sometime this school year...but if you knew how i danced and what i created then there would be no surprise on some of the things i have planned, but the year i'm taking it even further and CANNOT wait to perform all that's in my head!

complete ramble post, but i haven't taken pics of the fits yet or the FOTD's, but will get to it...i'm actually surprised that this year i've been seeing a lot of YESES in wardrobe choices on campus opposed to last year when i saw A LOT of NO's! but it's only the beginning of the year so that could change...i hope not.

it's sunday! so that means of course i went to church...i tried to do a really quick look which ended up looking more pink than i wanted it to. i used the jesse's girl eye dust that looks a lil rusty with my milani spice and this is what i got...

a couple of saturdays ago i actually got the chance to sit and watch VH1's new reality show I Love Money featuring past cast members of the station's dating shows...they had a marathon running and let me to tell you i have found a new love.

i originally wasn't watching the show, because i never knew what day or time it came on (sundays @ 9/8 central) but now that i do know i make sure not to miss it...there is so much drama, backstabbing and just plan wtf in the show that it's hard not to get addicted.

one show that i'm definitely not addicted to is Brook Knows Best...she's not as entertaining without the whole family there...

the show i'm definitely waiting for to premiere tomorrow on VH1 is New York Goes to Hollywood! i LOVE New York, she is absolutely funny and i believe the show will be so entertaining...but that's my take on a couple of VH1 reality shows, i'm definitely not going to go into all the shows they have premiering in the fall...is everyone trying to have a reality show? i mean seriously.

i'm am not that tall of a person...i barely make 5'4, so there is no surprise in my love of all shoes high. my legs are so short so i like to create the illusion that i'm taller than what i really am...i pair 3 1/2, 4 inch heels with shorts, a point to stiletto with boot cut or wide legged pants and tall boots with skinnies...it also doesn't help that my bf is kind of tall...here are a few pairs of heels i'm loving and even thinking about snagging...

AMEN, AMEN! today was my last and final day of telemarketing EVER! i was wished off with well wishes...but it was past my time and i'm happy i get to sleep in next week and not worry about dealing with disgruntle employees...

but, any who, here's the FOTD...i thought i'd hit them with a lil green for the last day...

i finally got the chance to dye my hair...my cousin was supposed to do it, but that's a long story...i used the Cream of Nature permanent color in cinnamon. the product itself is like most hair dyes...it has a strong odor. the application and directions were easy...i payed 7 bucks for this at CVS. i really like the color, although i wish it was a teeny bit lighter...maybe i'll try again sometime later...

it's that time of the week again...! american finally got themselves together this week on So You Think You Can Dance and America's Best Dance Crew...even though i'm a firm believer that Will was robbed, i was happy to see that both Joshua and Twitch are in the finale YAY!

on ABDC favorite group since Asid, Fanny Pack, ended up in the bottom 2...of course they snapped and will be back next week. who am i loving a lil less since the season started...SoReal Cru. they were hot in the beginning, but they're slacking and the other groups keep coming blowing them out the competition. who i think should be in the top 2...Fanny Pack and i'm stuck between the other 2, but i am so loving their style...!

i am officially on a food watch! since i've been home i've noticed i've gain a few pounds or inches...i'm not calling it a diet, because those don't work! so, instead, i'm watching what i eat, not that i don't do it already, but i'm buckling down down...

at school i rarely ate fast food, but since i've been home, and because of working, i've been eating more of it...for the past couple of weeks i've cut back giving in once to BK when my and the bf need food really badly (it's also not good for your diet or "food watching" to love food and be in a relationship with someone who loves it as much as you)

but, i've been doing good cutting back on the fast food...i did evaluate how i've been eating at home and at school to see what the difference may be and at school i walked a heck of a lot more...i tried walking during my lunch break a few weeks ago, but walking at noon in 90 degree weather or having rain fall consecutively for days doesn't quite help the cause...

i haven't gained much that people notice, but i notice and i have to get back on track.

keeping with healthy eating, i was so hungry today and i wanted something GOOD for dinner...after browsing the cabinets and freezer i finally found SOMETHING to eat!

Stir-Fried String Beans

what you need:

baby green and yellow whole peas

rice (white or brown)

margarine

salt & pepper

fresh or jarred garlic in water

you can add meat to this (chicken, beef or pork)

boil the beans in a covered pot of lightly salted water for 3-5 minutes.
drain beans and add 1 tbs of butter to pain with a SMIDGE of salt and pepper to taste (lots of pepper for me)
add 1/2 tsp of chopped garlic stirring ingredients together.
add cooked rice to the beans (equal to amount of beans)
pain should NOT be buttery so the beans and rice slightly fry on medium heat.
beans should be crunchy and juicy to the bite.
turn of heat, plate and ENJOY!

this is my final week of work and i plan not to do much work at all...to my surprise i did get a sale, but i wasn't trying that hard...

here's the FOTD...i wore my FAVORITE HIP duo cheeky for a quick look a used HIP's liquid lip color in splendid on the lips...comparing it to the other one i brought, reserved has more of a pink undertone...

i am NOT a big floral person, but lately i've been seeing some pieces that i actually like...here's my floral inspiration...
