Style on a Budget!

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

So I have been doing a lot of bargain shopping...my thing is if I find it on clearance and I like AND I have the money for it, then get it!  I'm not going to post everything I got, but something I will talk about is the great deal I got on some style books.  The Waldenbooks near me, I believe, is closing in less than ten days.  I didn't know about it until I went in today and the store was just about empty.  Everything was AT LEAST 60% off.

I was really looking for fiction books, but I happened to go near the self help books and found these style books...I couldn't pass it by, so I go the five pictured for $40!  I saved about $70...Style books can give you a lot of good information, especially if it's something you want to get into professionally or as a hobby for yourself personally.  I may do some reviews as I read through them, I don't know yet...but just wanted to let you all know about the deal I got.

EBAY is ADDICTIVE!

because the economy is in the ruts my job has been drastically cutting hours (so i'm looking for a second job) but i haven't been doing anything all week, outside of job hunting, but online window shopping. i got some moolah today and had one of my many impulsive buying attacks...i know it's sad :(

but, i see it as being things i actually needed...i got my ipod touch yesterday and it needs to be protected. i figured that out last night and today, because all i did was...

listen to music & play games...

so i went on ebay and found this pink case that i wanted that was on apple.com for $30 and i only had to shell out $20 plus free shipping! then i said, "well the screen has to be protected too..." so i found screen protectors that retailed for $15 for only $1 plus $2.99 shipping. so i said, "okay eva, you're done!" but as i proceeded to leave the ebay's home page something caught my eye...OBAMA TEES! i actually didn't think i would find anything i wanted for a reasonable price, but i did...the cutest tee with his face and president under for only $8.98 & free shipping!

yep, so i admit, i have a problem and i'm working on it...that's why i'm holding off buy a case for my camera even though i found on for $9.98 & free shipping. but i'm going to hold off for a littly bit...or maybe not!

WHIP OUT THE GOOD STUFF!?

so friday was sooo depressing! i had so much drama with school and registering...the devil is trying to keep me down here and it's not happening!

but the bf was nice and wanted to cheer me up so we went out to eat...i love my food!

here's my EOTN...i pulled out the jesse's girl and my pink hip metallic duo...

my outfit for the night...cute & casual

vs pink tee...$22.50
jeans...ON $25
a.e. scarf...$20
cl boots...on sale $39.99

we went to best buy and then had to find somewhere without a long wait to eat...i wanted cracker barrel, but there was a 40 MINUTE WAIT! so we decided to go to ruby tuesday's, but they were CLOSED DOWN! i was like can this day get ANY more worse...

walking into best buy...

after stopping at walmart and having a short argument he just pulled up to this restaurant called ryan's. neither one of us knew what this place was so we went in and it was a buffet! i don't particularily care for buffets...idk, something about so many people hovering over the food and it sitting out so long...but i actually like it! the dessert WAS NOT good, except fot the ice cream, but everthing else i ate was pretty good...

the restaurant...
in the car...

so that was about it for my weekend...i had to work yesterday so didn't do much but lounge around and make a video...hope your weekend great & good luck on finals!

Shop til I Almost Dropped!

Saturday, July 12, 2008

when i woke up this morning i really didn't plan to do anything if at all...but i got a call from my cousin who had to run some errands...thus the shopping began...

i wanted to go for a glowy type look inspired from an ad i saw in Teen Vogue...

here's the video for the look...

i also went simple with my outfit...the shirt is from Wet Seal & the scarf & bottoms are from ON...

now begins the haulage...we went to Bare Feet, which is one of my FAVORITE shoe stores & i picked up two pair of heels...

the store was in a strip so we went to this beauty supply store that i always wanted to go in but never actually went in...i was in heaven! the store carried a big selection of NYX, Sinful Colors, Wild & Crazy & the like...here are some swatches & pics of what i got...

i wish these lipsticks were a lil creamier...but great color payoff!

then we went to the mall & i got a couple of things from ON since they were having a sale (the shorts weren't on sale even though they should've been)

i had fun...but the next hauls you see coming will be for back to school...so yea!

so earlier today i went to Jewels (a grocery store) & picked up a few things...i finally got the Lash Blast! i'm excited to try it, but i'm waiting bc i have a couple of mascaras open already...i paid $4 & some change for it...i was definitely not paying 7 or 8 dollars for it...i'm still looking for the Colossal...

but i also picked up two of Wet n Wild's Mega Mixers which are a even cheaper "version" of HIP's jelly balms which are a cheaper dupe of MAC's tendertones...i have yet to get a tendertone (i really want one now after all the youtube vids) but this mega mixer was 99 cents & i honestly could've kept my $2...they are named after mixed drinks (like daiquiris) but the fragrance is so STRONG!

i've heard the tendertones have a slight fruity smell & the jelly balms smell like cake batter (yum) to me [idk where ppl are getting the coco butter smell from...] but the mixers are BEYOND strong...it smells like it should be in a fragrance store with the other strong perfumes or whatever....the texture is so THIN & you have to keep reapplying it to feel assured there's something on your lips & even then there's still nothing...

i stuck my finger in & it barely moved...the jelly balms, to me, are soft & easily move under my pressure...i've seen many comparison videos on youtube of the jelly balms & tendertones & most the time wonder if me & the person in the video brought the same product, bc i don't agree with a lot of what i here about them, but anyways...for 99 cents you get what you pay for, i wouldn't buy any more & will probably hardly ever use this one (i gave one to my sister who didn't really like it either...)

i feel it's more for someone younger who may not understand the value of a product & how much money plays a part in it's outcome...like 7 to 13, maybe 14 year olds...there is NO COLOR AT ALL very sheer, the jelly balms (depending on the color) give a better color pay off...the jelly balms have 4.5 grams of product & the mixers have 5 grams...if you want to try them & judge for yourself feel free...they're only 99 cents to begin with so try 1 & see how you feel about them:)

i finished the second book today Forget Me Not by Adrianne Byrd! this book was so GOOD! i tend to pick books that i know i will like (try to stay away from the hustling, gang banging, stripper turned- books...i still like some of them though) but this book had me at page one & it is hard for that to happen with me...

the story itself is filled with suspense & mystery (which i loved) & books that make me work a lil are always good for me...i TOTALLY recommend this book you will not regret this purchase...the books i purchased were $7 each & so far they have been worth every penny...i'm starting the last book tonight Dangerous/Sexy by Beverly Jenkins...i loved her book Deadly Sexy & i expect this one to be just as good...but yes get the two i've told you about already & i'll soon let you know about the final book...
