it's that time of the week again...! american finally got themselves together this week on So You Think You Can Dance and America's Best Dance Crew...even though i'm a firm believer that Will was robbed, i was happy to see that both Joshua and Twitch are in the finale YAY!

on ABDC favorite group since Asid, Fanny Pack, ended up in the bottom 2...of course they snapped and will be back next week. who am i loving a lil less since the season started...SoReal Cru. they were hot in the beginning, but they're slacking and the other groups keep coming blowing them out the competition. who i think should be in the top 2...Fanny Pack and i'm stuck between the other 2, but i am so loving their style...!

Uh Yum Yum!

i am officially on a food watch! since i've been home i've noticed i've gain a few pounds or inches...i'm not calling it a diet, because those don't work! so, instead, i'm watching what i eat, not that i don't do it already, but i'm buckling down down...

at school i rarely ate fast food, but since i've been home, and because of working, i've been eating more of it...for the past couple of weeks i've cut back giving in once to BK when my and the bf need food really badly (it's also not good for your diet or "food watching" to love food and be in a relationship with someone who loves it as much as you)

but, i've been doing good cutting back on the fast food...i did evaluate how i've been eating at home and at school to see what the difference may be and at school i walked a heck of a lot more...i tried walking during my lunch break a few weeks ago, but walking at noon in 90 degree weather or having rain fall consecutively for days doesn't quite help the cause...

i haven't gained much that people notice, but i notice and i have to get back on track.

keeping with healthy eating, i was so hungry today and i wanted something GOOD for dinner...after browsing the cabinets and freezer i finally found SOMETHING to eat!

Stir-Fried String Beans

what you need:

baby green and yellow whole peas

rice (white or brown)

margarine

salt & pepper

fresh or jarred garlic in water

you can add meat to this (chicken, beef or pork)

boil the beans in a covered pot of lightly salted water for 3-5 minutes.
drain beans and add 1 tbs of butter to pain with a SMIDGE of salt and pepper to taste (lots of pepper for me)
add 1/2 tsp of chopped garlic stirring ingredients together.
add cooked rice to the beans (equal to amount of beans)
pain should NOT be buttery so the beans and rice slightly fry on medium heat.
beans should be crunchy and juicy to the bite.
turn of heat, plate and ENJOY!

Let the Shopping Begin!

i finally have a FOTD! i went to church this morning & pulled out my fav HIP metallic duo in sculpted out for a quick look. i also wanted to give the HIP liquid lip color in reserved a try...

after church i wanted to go by borders to see if maybe, just maybe they had a copy of the coveted Italian Vogue, which they didn't :(, but it was right next to one of my fav home (or dorm) shopping stores, Linen & Things. i wanted to get this 17-piece cookware set that was advertised for $49.99 (after $10 mail-in rebate) and also came with a free knife set.

i was going to wait to get it since there was one more week of the sale, but just decided to get it while i was there...after the rebate (which i'm mailing tomorrow!) and my 20% off coupon, i got this very nice set for a mere 40 bucks!

now it's on to the bedroom stuff...

Time for a Lil Change...

today i decided to deep condition my hair, bc i wanted to try the Dr. Miracle's Deep Conditioner...the only difference from what i regularly use is that it tingles the scalp and doesn't really smell like anything. i am trying their Temple and Nape Balm, bc i heard it actually works...i've been using it since wednesday and you have to follow the directions for 30 days, so we soon shall see...

still on hair i've been thinking about dying mine...i used to want red hair when i was really younger, then quickly got over that phase when i cut my hair...i like the color of my hair, but i'm feeling like a lil change. so while in CVS picking up HIP products for the BOGOF, i went through the hair isle and picked up Creme of Natures color in cinnamon brown...i really love their products and trust them, so i'm going to give it a try. i don't know when exactly i will dye my hair since i just washed it, but maybe sometime next week...

i did pick up two of HIP's liquids lip colors in splendid and reserved...both very nudish colors, still debating on getting the orange one...

IDK What to Title This As...

so i haven't really been doing much anything as far as makeup and clothing goes...i actually went the whole week without makeup and stuck to t shirts or tanks and jeans...

i've been slacking, but it will pick back up again...one more week of work and i'll be done with telemarketing...

i plan to be focused on getting my stuff ready to move and most of my next purchases will most likely revolve around that.

on another note, i almost forgot what having a cat or kitten was like...this kitten has to be the most energetic and slightly crazy cat i've ever had! she's a handful, but she's still adorable for now...

i finally finished one of the books i brought on tuesday, Dreaming of You by Francis Ray...it seems like it took me forever! i tried to read it on tuesday night when i got it, but fell asleep during the FIRST PARAGRAPH...then tried on wednesday, i read a lil during my lunch break and tried to read while at the bf's house, didn't quite work. then i read a good chunk yesterday and knocked the last half of it out today...

i didn't know her books followed a family, which would explain why it says A Grayson Novel under the title and why the other two books i have (now seeing the characters were related) characters had the same last name...when i got this book i thought i already had it, because some of the names sounded familiar...duh they were the same people!

so i started backwards, not that you could really tell, but it answers some questions that may come up. but another great love story by Francis Ray...now to delve into Beverly Jenkins' Black Lace...

A Quick Rant...

i previously raved about how this was probably THE best season of So You Think You Can Dance yet and then the result show for the top 8 aired tonight...

AMERICA WAKE THE **** UP! seriously did Will, the best dancer yet (i believe), just go home? i admit i didn't see the show last night because it wasn't accessible where i was at...but i did watch the videos online and Will and Twitch should not have been in the bottom two...i mean really, i love Joshua and Mark's pretty creative...but looking at last night only, to me, it should have been the other way around...even Mark was surprised to be in the top 2.

i am very disappointed in the viewers of the show...i heard there was controversy over the "4 Real" thing which i don't get...every season they seem to pick SOMETHING to complain or nit pick about, get over it...let them have fun it's not a race or gang thing stop being so naive! then the James Brown routine he did may not have been received well, but i can say this about Will, he went all out, performed his hardest and laid his heart on the dance floor every week...the show truly lost an honest performer.

but the crazy voting, or lack there of, phenom bled onto America's Best Dance Crew putting Super Crew and Supreme Soul in the bottom...i don't always, if ever, agree with Lil Mama, but she was right about the Boogie Bots not being all that hot. i'm still upset about ASID leaving last week, they were one of the best crews...i'm just not feeling this letting america vote thing...lately they've been getting it ALL wrong. no matter how much they say pick up the phone and vote i just don't believe the voting is being based on talent...of course personality plays a part, but when THE most talented dancer is voted off, then there has to be something wrong somewhere...

What is a Tattoo...?

i was flipping through the latest issue of InStyle when i got to the article on Rihanna and the part where she talks about where she got her tattoos...

did you know she has 8 tattoos? i didn't either, but apparently she likes them small and in a place where it is least expected to be or can easily be hidden...i've been thinking about what my next tat would be, i know where i want it, and i already have one...but it's interesting looking at where her tats are and wondering why they're there...

my butterfly tat i have i've wanted in the space between my shoulder and chest for a while before i got it...i wear a lot of tanks, tube tops and dresses in the summer so i knew it could easily be seen and easily be hidden...i got it during my last semester of high school (that seems so long ago...)

but the LOVE tat on her finger took me by surprise, most of her tats did, but that one in particular i would have never guessed was there...including the one in her ear...RIHANNA WHERE DID YOU COME UP WITH THESE PLACES FROM?! i just thought it was interestingly different...

last night i took another trip to Borders and i picked up two books...i love Francis Ray's books, especially the Grayson Novels...so i picked up one of those and it's titled Dreaming of You. i tried to start reading it last night, but i was too tired and fell asleep, but i did get to read a lil during lunch, not much, but i'm trying to fight the sleepiness so i can fully enjoy it.

the second book i got was another by Beverly Jenkins (love her books!) and it's titled Black Lace...it seems to have some mystery to it and i love my mysteries so i picked that one up...i'll let you know what i think of them soon!

i'm leaving for school in 3 weeks even though i still have a lil time before school actually starts...i've been looking for furnishings for my apartment, but i couldn't help getting distracted looking online at some of my favorite clothing sites...

i love Forever 21, but i NEVER find what i like online in the store and it's frustrating, bc i don't want to pay shipping...but seeing how high gas prices are now and where my closest F21 store is really doesn't make a difference, plus i'll be back at school where there are NO F21 stores...so i think i'm just going to start buying online only...

A Lil TV Please...

today was another no makeup day...i was beyond tired and it stormed during the morning leaving no kind of motivation...

i've been thinking about a lot of my favorite shows...it being summer and all means there's not really that many good shows on

the new season of Run's House just began meaning it might or might not bleed into the fall...i find it unlikely since so many shows are scheduled to air on MTV in august (The Hills, Sweet Sixteen spin off, but this is a monday line up)

because of the writer's strike new shows aired during mid season, but not all shows decided to do that...one being my favorite Heroes...everyone at school always wonder how i watch so much TV and still manage to pass...

what's the meaning of this post...THERE'S NOTHING ON TV! there are those few exceptions: So You Think You Can Dance, America's Best Dance Crew, Bridezilla's (which is falling off) and that's about it...the fall is calling my name and i'm ready to answer, "I WANT MY TV SHOWS BACK!"

Rainy Saturday...

i've been in the process of getting a dog..but today i was a lil detoured...i ended up getting a kitten instead! me and the bf were out "supposedly" looking for a dog when we came across an ad online about free kittens...we called the guy, he said we could come over today and off we were... i live in the Chicago area...so we had to go by the lake and i actually enjoyed the ride and the cooler breeze the lake emitted... we went to the apartment the guy lived in and was greeted by the most adorable kittens ever! i originally wanted this black and orange kitten, but it was taken...and the same was for the gray and white one...there was another gray and white one, but when i held it next to the all gray one i knew the gray one was definitely for me...here are some pics from the ride and the official introduction of...PRINCESS!

so today i finally opened the infamous Lash Blast...i think i kinda like it lol...i would compare this to HIP's volumizing mascara only this made the lashes a lil thicker...it separates the lashes and i LOVE the brush...you can feel it gripping the lashes...

okay...so...i was in my kitchen rummaging through the "junk drawer" (you know the drawer everyone throws anything in) and came across these samples of Motion's new Marula Natural Therapy hair strengthening moisturizer. my younger sister is always bringing samples of something home...but i decided to try it, bc my edges keep frizzing up bc of the heat...

so i put it on last night and i must say i love it! i haven't really been uning Motions' products bc i've been using Cream of Nature and Olive Oil products. i just might go buy a full size bottle, bc my edges look SO MUCH BETTER! this stuff contains 100% marula oil from Africa...i really don't know what it is but it works...it's suposed to moisturize, strengthen, and protect (i do want to try Dr. Miracle's temple and nape cream) i recommend this and give it 3 Diva Kisses!

so once again today i didn't wear any makeup & i was dressed very simple, jeans & a tee...

i did however do a semi look when i got home just playing with blues & greens...nothing special...everything is Jesse's Girl except the base which is NYX...

my FAV show's new season premiered tonight...Run's House! i love that show; vanessa & angela's styles are different from each other but posses their fashionistic (my own word) knowledge...some of their accessories i was really feeling (i'll doing a "where to find for less" list asap)

i think this is going to be another great season along with So You Think You Can Dance...i am a dancer so why would i not watch that show...my top three dancers from bottom to top are...Joshua & Twitch (they are both straddling & making it hard for me to choose one for that spot), Katee, & Will...yep so definitely make sure you tune in to SYTYCD...!

Wish it Was the Weekend Already...

no pics today unfortunately...i stayed out late last night resulting in rushing this morning meaning no make up...it hit the mid 90s so it was beyond humid & i was so not feeling working today...

i haven't put in my 2 weeks notice yet...but the way things are going with my sales (as in down) they might let me go before i get the chance to resign myself (but i'm desperately praying that's not the case, bc i need these next couple of paychecks...)

but i saw this BEAUTIFUL yellow trench at ON that i absolutely want...sorry no pic for some reason it's not on the site...but i was browsing blogs and found a link to "Barack the Vote" tees! i'm so excited about this election, bc i actually get to vote...just missed the last one bc of my age...but i'm definitely getting the father to get me one...

i'm unsure if i will be wearing makeup for the next couple of days bc my eye is swollen and i'm assuming it's from my lack of sleep so...yea, but i've been on youtube, haven't really felt like posting a video...almost didn't post my most recent one...idk what's going on, but the subbies keep bouncing back and forth between 90 and 92...idk, but if it's doing anything at all it's becoming irritating...but the reason for not posting vids is lack of motivation honestly...hopefully it'll come soon from somewhere...

oh yea! tell me why my glasses broke! my beloved sunglasses! that's why i'm so hesitant to buy really expensive ones, bc my glasses always break somehow...my brother or sister had hit them and it made the screw on the left side a lil shakey but i didn't pay it any mind...well this morning rushing i knocked them on the floor and the screw came out! i can't find the screw, but i plan on buying one to fix them...but i'm still upset :(
